2016 | Founded by ACGN Fans
Bayi is founded as a donghua fan-subtitling project. Quickly gaining traction within the anime community, it becomes the largest group of its kind.
2017 | Quality Speaks
Bayi's translation quality catches the attention of Tencent Animation, and Bayi is invited to subtitle shows and translate comics in an official capacity. Bayi LLC is incorporated on the 10th of May, 2017.
2021 | Anime and Games
Bayi enters a major subtitling deal with bilibili to translate thousands of anime episodes for SEA audiences. Bayi also establishes its GameLoc division.
2023 | Webtoons Production
After localizing over 30,000 webcomic chapters, Bayi establishes its own webtoon production house, with a focus on English originals and webnovel adaptations.
2025 | New Horizons
With a strong focus on artist-led production, Bayi obtains over $1 million USD in webtoon project deals and related investments. With more than a dozen IPs already in development, the possibilities seem endless!
